Cancellations
We cannot guarantee the weather, snow or stability of the snow pack; therefore there is no refund due to weather conditions, poor snow conditions, lack of snow, too much snow or avalanche hazard.

We understand that your plans may have to change. If you cancel within 30 days of your arrival date, all payments are forfeited (including due to sickness or emergency). If you cancel with more than 30 days notice, you are entitled to a 80% refund on your rental fees. You can change your reservation up to 30 days ahead of your visit at no charge assuming alternate dates are available. There are no refunds for early departures. There are no credits or re-sale of reservations.

Winter 2022-23 COVID Policy

Any COVID requirements at the Frog Lake Backcountry Huts will be as directed by Nevada County’s requirements at the time of your visit.

Lost, Damaged Items

Truckee Donner Land Trust and its hutmasters are not responsible for loss, damages or claims to property of guests due to fire, theft, accident or any other cause. The management also reserves the right to refuse service to anyone. Fireworks or discharging firearms are prohibited.

Clean Up & Leave No Trace

Guests are expected to clean-up after themselves, do their dishes and clean and sweep and straighten out their hut before departing. We practice Leave No Trace. You’ll need to pack out all your own trash and food stuffs.

Miscellaneous

  • Smoking or fires of any kind inside buildings is prohibited.

  • Sorry, dogs are not allowed.

  • Ski boot are not allowed inside buildings except in mud rooms.

  • Check in time is 1:00 pm. Checkout is 10:00 am.
