Kate Frankfurt, director of philanthropy for the Truckee Donner Land Trust for the last two years, will be moving on to a new position with our friends at the Tahoe Truckee Community Foundation.

“On behalf of the whole board and staff, we would like to thank Kate for all her hard work, her passion for conservation, and we wish her all the best in her new position,” said Co-Executive Director John Svahn.

Kate joined the Land Trust after more than a decade as a development professional and manager of numerous capital campaigns. Prior to moving to Tahoe, Kate served as the Chief Development Officer for Safe&Sound – a San Francisco-based family resource center, and as a philanthropic consultant for Tahoe-based organizations such as Gateway Mountain Center and the League to Save Lake Tahoe.

She hit the ground running, successfully raising the funds necessary to acquire and steward Truckee Springs, including the funding for the pedestrian bridge. In addition, Kate raised the annual funds necessary to keep Land Trust lands open to the public and well cared for.

“During my time at the Land Trust, I was impressed each and every day not only by the dedication of the staff and board, but by the incredible and steadfast support of donors,” Kate said.

The Land Trust looks forward to working with Kate in her new role with the Community Foundation.
