The Land Trust relies heavily on generous volunteers and trail users to build and maintain over 30 miles of trails on Land Trust properties from Martis Valley to Donner Summit. If you’d like to get your hands dirty, experience the fulfillment of a job well done, and get a sneak peek at the new Elizabethtown Meadows trail, (and work with trail guru, Kevin Starr) sign-up for the last trail work day of 2017, Saturday September 23. Details will be emailed to you once you register.

Requirements are simple: dress in long sleeved shirts, long pants, and closed toed shoes and bring water, lunch, sunscreen, and sunglasses or other eye protection. The Land Trust will provide hard hats, gloves, and tools.

The new trail, which will officially open in 2018, connects Northstar at the 267/Northstar stoplight, with the extensive trail system at Waddle Ranch Preserve. The shady trail traverses the hidden Elizabethtown Meadow and the newly restored Middle Martis Creek and is already being enjoyed by mountain bikers, trail runners, and hikers alike.
