Land Trust Board Elects New President
On behalf of their fellow board members and the staff of the Truckee Donner Land Trust, we’d like to thank Jeff Brown for his time as our board president, and welcome Aparna Reddy as our new board president.
Jeff has been a force for the Truckee Donner Land Trust since joining the board in 2012, serving as secretary in 2013, vice president in 2014, and president starting in 2015. He will be staying on the board of the Land Trust.
“Words cannot express our gratitude for Jeff and all the hard work he’s put into our organization,” said Perry Norris, co-executive director of the Truckee Donner Land Trust.
Aparna will step into the leadership role, having joined the board in 2017, serving as secretary in 2018 and vice president in 2019.
“We are thrilled to have Aparna step up as our board president,” said John Svahn, co-executive director of the Land Trust. “She has brought a critical perspective to the Land Trust as someone who grew up in the region, moved away, and then came back with an eye for what’s really important, including open space.”
Jeff, the owner and general manager of Tahoe Mountain Realty, has been critical in many of the Truckee Donner Land Trust’s projects, including Lower Carpenter Valley and Frog Lake, helping to strategize what were very complex deals.
“Jeff has been a wonderful president, leading the Land Trust through several key acquisitions with a steady hand,” Svahn said. “He is an innovator in his business and brings that spirit of innovation to the Land Trust.”
Aparna, an attorney, has been deeply involved in a number of Land Trust projects, including working out complex access issues that needed to be resolved for the successful acquisition of Frog Lake, as well as the successful accreditation of the Land Trust.
“The Land Trust is lucky to have Aparna as our new president, her perspective, her insight and her expertise are exactly what we need as an organization as we look to our future,” Norris said.
