Thanks to our 2019 Volunteers!
2019 saw the biggest volunteer efforts yet at the Truckee Donner Land Trust, with 481 people lending a hand on Land Trust lands and trails!
Over the course of 25 volunteer days throughout the summer and fall, individuals and groups ranging from schools and youth groups to corporate teams and hiking, biking and running clubs took on trail maintenance projects, helped build the new stretch of the Donner Lake Rim Trail, picked up trash and more.
“A huge thank you to everybody who came out this year, it is amazing what you all were able to get done, especially after such a long winter,” said Kevin Starr, Stewardship Coordinator for the Land Trust.
Volunteer days were particularly focused on Donner Lake Rim Trail this year both building the new section and maintaining existing trail that needed upkeep after the big winter. Elsewhere volunteers helped out in Johnson Canyon as part of Truckee Day, worked on Elizabethtown Meadow Trail and did rock work at Black Wall.
