Land Trust Activities & COVID-19 Update

Summer is coming quickly upon us as snows melt, meadows turn green and flower, and trails are cleared for your next adventure.

Our stewardship crew is hard at work getting trails ready for you - clearing down trees, fixing drainage issues and taking care of any other small problems that may have popped up over the winter.

We’ve all learned, or re-learned, the value of getting into nature in these challenging times, and we hope you’re taking full advantage of the open spaces you’ve helped the Land Trust protect. Get out and enjoy!

As you plan your next hike, ride or run on Land Trust lands or trails, we hope you’ll take the same precautions that have become familiar over the last few months:

  • Please stay at least 6 feet apart

  • Don’t go if you’re feeling sick

  • Cover your mouth if sneezing or coughing

  • Bring a mask and hand sanitizer

  • If the trailhead is full - be flexible and pick a different place to go

  • Don’t congregate on the trail or at the trailhead

  • And as always - leave no trace and help keep these beautiful places pristine

Docent Hikes

Normally this year we’d be announcing our free docent-led hikes for the summer. Following state and local directives, we’ve postponed hikes until July, and will re-evaluate launching that program, both in timing and in procedures, to best ensure the health of our docents and the participants. Stay tuned for updates.

Trail Days

Likewise our volunteer trail days, typically scheduled throughout the summer to help build and maintain trail, have been postponed until August. We’ll be evaluating the situation and working with the best available information and guidance from health officials as we work to re-launch this critical program. Again, stay tuned.
