The community campaign to preserve Truckee Springs is off to a great start!

With $10 million to raise by February 2021, we still have a ways to go, but we’ve already won a few key grants, have a community committee formed, and support steadily growing. The Land Trust anticipates needing to raise $2.5 million from private donations in the community, raising the rest from grants and other sources.

Grants so far:

  • California Natural Resources Agency has granted $1 million as part of the Trails and Parkways Prop 68 funding

  • The Town of Truckee has pledged $500,000 toward the project

  • Vail Resorts, via the EpicPromise grant program, has pledged $7,500 to Truckee Springs

  • Tahoe Truckee Community Foundation has granted $5,000

Private Donations:

Nearly $400,000 in private donations so far, including a lead gift from the Emigrant Trails Greenway Trust.
