Real Estate Professionals Supporting Open Space

The Board and Staff of the Truckee Donner Land Trust are both eternally grateful for, and constantly amazed at the different ways our community steps up to support open space and outdoor recreation.

One of the new and different ways we’ve been seeing more of lately has been from real estate professionals - Realtors and agents - making a donation to the Land Trust as a closing gift on behalf of their clients.

“The team at Tahoe Mountain Realty has found that a donation in the name of the consumer upon closing elicits and level of appreciation far beyond a material gift,” said Jeff Brown of Tahoe Mountain Realty, who is also the current Board President for the Land Trust.

Other area real estate professionals including Cliff Busby of Dickson Realty, Jeanne Kirschner of Compass, John Biebl of Coldwell Banker and Breck Overall of Sierra Sotheby’s have been doing the same - with Breck directing donations to Truckee Springs as a member of our Truckee Springs Community Campaign Committee.

“Truckee Springs feels so relevant to the vast majority of people buying here, whether they’re full-time or second home owners,” Breck said. “I’ve donated to numerous organizations on behalf of clients, but this project is so tangible, so rewarding, and my hope is once they see I believe in it, they’ll say ‘great, tell me more.’”
